The Mosh |
We, as The Mosh are aspiring to be an established magazine, starting from the wonders of the internet. We’re here to give you the latest on the music we love, including news on music-related happenings, new artists, interviews, gig and album reviews etc. We focus our attention on music falling under categories such as acoustic, indie and our favourites, rock and metal. As well as this we’re looking for our readers to get involved; so if there’s anything such as fanart, any reviews you’ve done or just feedback regarding the artists we profile be sure to submit it to us. Also, please take note of the guidelines provided. |
Unfortunately, it seems these incidents seem to be occuring quite frequently.
American singer-songwriter, Lucas Carpenter, has been a recent victim and he’s doing his best to replace all of the missing gear.
If you could help Lucas out by donating some money (http://www.feedthemuse.net/lucascarpenter), you can get an exclusive bonus track, autographed CDs, or a limited edition t-shirt. He has managed to raise a total of $1200, just under half of his target so any contributions would be greatly appreciated by him! Thank you!

So, Don’t Forget To Write; a young, American pop-rock band; yet they’re not quite like what we’ve previously seen emerging from the other side of the pond. Bringing out a slightly mellower sound with their music, DFTW prove to be able to produce just as catchy tunes, which compliment vocalist Daniel’s voice perfectly. Here’s what Daniel and Bryan had to say:
Sell yourselves to our readers.
Bryan: We are Don’t Forget to Write, a sexy, young, and energetic pop rock band from New York, NY. If you‘re a fan of bands like Dashboard Confessional or A Rocket to the Moon, you might really like our tunes.
What’s your role in the band?
Bryan: I play harmonica, sing back-up vocals, and write most of our lyrics.
Daniel: I sing, play the guitar, and play the piano for DFTW. I also write the music to go with Bryan’s lyrics, and sometimes throw in a few on my own.
Bryan: He’s been getting really good at penning lyrics actually. He’s starting to give me a run for my money.
What inspired you to form a band?
Daniel: Well, I’ve been listening to and playing music my whole life, and I started writing as an early teen, so I always knew that I wanted to be in a band. One summer, when Bryan and I were 16, we figured out that I loved writing music but wasn’t such a lyricist and Bryan was a great poet/lyricist, but not as much of a musician… How could we not combine our talents?
Bryan: It’s true. Don’t Forget to Write: A match made in musical heaven.
Modest words from Bryan, I’m sure but why not find out for yourselves and let us know what you think?
DFTW’s EP “Handsome Expectation” is currently available on iTunes.

Anonymous asked: Stars of the search party are awesome!
Indeed they are. Keep an eye out for a feature on them very soon!
Emerging from Seattle, My Vs Myself is a quartet that will definitely please the majority of people’s ears. Their currently short yet marvelous tracklist of melodic rock music is delightfully tranquilizing.
What started off as just a fun side project fueled by the members’ love for artists such as The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, and Bruce Springsteen has evolved into something much more serious. After all, what, if not determination, can be expected from four experienced musicians, who have already travelled the world touring with their bands? Me Vs Myself’s bassist for example, Nicholas Wiggins, has also been rocking out in another American alternative rock band, Aiden, since 2003.
With the first EP ‘Seasons’ and a music video (‘Promising’) already under their belts, Me Vs Myself are preparing for their debut headline show on August 4th. After listening to ‘Searching’ and ‘Show Me The Way’ I am convinced the audience’s expectations will not be demolished.
Me Vs Myself is a band that you should be keeping an eye on.

“We are not dead!” announces None The Less’s MySpace page, which is always an encouraging start. The Watford quintent, known for their heavy yet catchy “metal’n’roll”, have a knack for writing songs that are both brutal enough for hardcore fans, but accessible enough for the average rocker. Last year’s mini-album ‘The Way To Save Ourselves’ was a critical success, with most reviews giving four stars or above.
Eschewing the generic metalcore sound, None The Less have created their own sound: half good old fashioned rock and roll, half metal, and totally awesome. This year, the five Hertfordshire boys have been working hard on writing a new album, which is sure to advance their sound further. Having played with Young Guns and In Case Of Fire in the past year, None The Less clearly have greater things to come, as was proved by their storming performances at last year’s Download and Underage festivals.
They might not be doing much right now, but keep an eye on these boys; once their album drops and they bring their whirlwind live show back on the road, they’re sure to be heading on to bigger and better things.

I Just Wanna Live - Good Charlotte
With the new record approaching us very soon, it’s fitting to remind ourselves of what this Maryland quintet are capable of producing. And this track shows GC at their finest; it’s fast, energetic and catchy; the vocals shift from one twin to another throughout the chorus thus making it more interesting for the listener. Let’s hope ‘Cardiology’ is just as good.

Home Sweet Home - Deaf Havana
Another storming tune from this newly-made four-piece gives a more than satisfactory taster of what their new line-up has to offer. Whilst the absence of screaming vocals may not be to everyone’s taste, you can’t deny the utter brilliance of this big, new catchy demo. Home Sweet Home is available to listen to via the band’s Facebook page.

You And Me - Alex Day
Alex Day, better known on the internet by his YouTube handle of Nerimon, is actually quite a talented musician. From his latest release ‘The World Is Mine (I Don’t Know Anything’ comes the synth-laden opening track You And Me. It’s optimistic, reminiscent of teenage love affairs, and a total smile-along track. Perfect for summer.

Dirty Little Lies - Gavin Butler
Not content with being one-sixth of a fantastic rock band, The Blackout vocalist Gavin Butler has of late been playing a number of solo shows where he showcases another side of his songwriting skills. Dirty Little Lies is one example of said talent and is a must-listen even if you’re not a fan of The Blackout - if you like mellow tracks with heartfelt lyrics then you’ll love it.
- Rhiannon Batsford
